RECENT PRODUCT EMPTIES! (summer 2016)

Hello there beauty! I haven’t done this kind of post before and I think it’s a great idea to show you guys the products that either I love till its last drop or the product that I didn’t love that much but I used it up (maybe because I spend my own money on it) 

Let's start!

    L’oreal True Match Liquid Foundation in W4

Okay so this product is an ultimate favourite of mine, I have actually 6 diff shades (mainly for my kit and for myself) it’s funny because w4 is not my shade so I bought w2 to mix them up to get my desired shade, which you may think it is maybe w3 but its not. I have w3 and w3 alone is not warm enough for me that it tends to look ashy on my skin tone so I mix w4 and w2 which has a good amount of yellow tone to get my shade. 

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara 

I don’t know if I included this mascara to my blogs before but this is actually my 4^th or maybe my  5^th tube of this particular product. That’s how much I love it. I love the formula and brush wand and being affordable is another factor to consider of loving it and keep on repurchasing it. I’m so happy that is it now available locally here in the Philippines coz’ I remember before I always order this mascara online. It’s everyone’s favourite!

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

This is second to my most favourite finishing spray which is Skindinavia, what more can I say about this product? Well, it does its job holding my makeup into place and makes it really looooong-lasting. Will definitely repurchase this amazing product!

MAC Prep + Prime Fix plus 

I’m in a spray chaos now, 1^st I run out of my finishing spray now it’s my setting spray. This fix plus is incomparable, I don’t really know any dupes for this particular product because it works amazingin setting my foundation.  I need to buy one now!

Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer 

I have a 50-50 relationship with this product because it breaks me out so badly but it does the job on holding my makeup and make my base applied smoothly. You can see I have more than 30% left of the product but I will not risk my face again using it because my skin is now acne free. Thanks to God and to all my skincare products! Haha!  I would not repurchase this one because I have so many primers that don’t break me out but I would recommend this if your skin will not have any reaction using it cause it more affordable compare to others.

Catrice Camouflage concealer in 01

It’s thick enough to cover your whole face (if you want lol) and I like the pigmentation. However, my main purpose why I bought this is to use it as a highlighting concealer but as I’ve said it’s too thick that it tends to crease so badly under my eye area that I really have to put so much effort in prepping my face to make this concealer work. Nope, not going to repurchase. 

Revlon Brow Fantasy in the shade Brunette

Out of all the brow products that I have used in my entire makeup life this is by far, my most favourite of all. It’s a gel and pencil product in 1 for only 500pesos which is a great steal. Although this product would only last for 6 months to me (if you’re using it everyday) because the amount of product you’ll get is pretty small but I still love it and would always always always repurchase it. 

MJ Brush Cleaner in Lavender Scent

My favorite brush cleaner so farrrrrrr! Love the scent and my client always says my brushes smell so good whenever I use my fresh cleaned brushes to their faces. The only downside to this product is it’s always out of stock or I think it is already discontinued. Sad. 

Maybeline White Super Fresh Cake Powder in 04 Honey

I love that it is yellow tone and that it has SPF for skin protection. Only downside is you don’t wanna use this at night to set your foundation because it has high SPF which is 37 and may cause you white cast on photographs. But that is not really an issue to me cause I have other powder to use. I love this powder during summer because of the SPF and it really does set my foundation beautifully plus not to mention the great coverage it has because it’s a cake powder.

HOW TO: Highlight 101 (on FLEEEEEEEK!)

Hey there beauties! Okay, get yourselves together because we’re going to talk about those highlights on fleeeeeeeeeek. Highlighting is one of my favourite steps whenever I am doing my makeup because it can instantly lift your face and get rid of those tired looking eyes, it can make your face glow and dewy and youthful. Tell me, who doesn’t like glowing and youthful skin?

Highlighting is great when it is done correctly and when it is placed where it should be. It can be a little tricky but when you find the right shade that compliments your skin tone it could be your best friend for your everyday routine. I’m just going to talk more about highlighting and then I’m going to show you some of the products that I do recommend for highlighting purposes. 

During my makeup workshops, everyone gets crazy whenever we reached the highlighting topic. Because come on’ we all know that 2015 is the year of contour and highlight and there is a bunch of new highlighting and contouring products out in the market and it seems like everyone is raving about them. I am more into highlighting than contouring just because I like dewy skin, I love how it freshens the face and the look of the makeup. 

Let’s talk more about Highlighting.

WHAT IS HIGHLIGHTING? Highlighting brings facial features forward so they appear larger or fuller. Highlighting products are either light reflective powders or matte powders that are 2-3 shades lighter than your skin. The shades range from bright pearly whites to matte beige shades into champagnes, gold’s and rose gold shades for deeper skin tone. 

Two forms of highlighting: Creams/liquids/matte powders that is lighter than our skin tone and light reflective powders.

Parts where we usually highlight: T-zone  - Forehead, Chin, Cupids bow, Nose bridge and under eye area (For this areas, use a concealer or cream that is 2-3 shades lighter than you skin tone or your foundation then set it with a matte finish powder to set your highlighting creams or concealers. Make sure that the powder you use corresponds to the shade of your concealer to make the highlight visible.)

Highest points of your face - Chin, top of the cheeks, brow bone, tip of the nose, top of the brow arch  (Use a light reflective powder for this part to accentuate your face and give you a dewy finish and not looking too flat. Avoid applying this kind of highlighting powder to your forehead as it can make you look oily instead of dewy. )

As you noticed, I have more drugstore recommendations when it comes to highlighting concealers because I find that drugstore brands, well some of them, did a really great job when it comes to their concealers and foundations. Rarely do I find a very good light reflecting highlighters on a drugstores brand, some of them are flaky and frosty and you girls should avoid that because it can be just chunks of glitters on your face. What we wanted for a highlight is a subtle sheen that will make us dewy. 

I like to use my fingers or a damp beauty blender in blending my highlighting concealers and what I like to use for setting my highlighting concealer is the BEN-NYE BANANA POWDER mixed with BEN-NYE NEUTRAL SET to make the yellow tone of the banana powder not super intense. I also like using the RIMMEL STAY MATTE POWDER or the MAC MINERALIE SKIN-FINISH NATURAL IN THE SHADE LIGHT.

Tell me if you want me to do an in-depth review on each product of highlighters that I do own. Shades that are being mention above are my own shade, you may want to check or do a research first to find your shade before purchasing the product.  I heard that Anastasia Beverly hills and Gerard Cosmetics will come up with a highlighter this coming holiday season! My July Favorites! (Make-up Products)

Hey guys! So this post is mainly about my most used makeup products for the month of July. Basically these products are the ones that I use on a daily basis for the month.  I think I should do this kind of post every end
of the month just to give you "Monthly favorites" updates. What do you think? I got this idea from makeupbytiffanyD who is one of my favorite beauty blogger and Youtube guru. I think it's quite helpful and fun to make monthly favorites post cause it is actually like giving a little review for each product mentioned. I don't
know about you but I find that a little helpful which product might be useful to me and which product is good from the drugstore that you might wanna check out.

So let's move on to my July favorites! Brace yourself for a very long post!

1.) L'oreal True Match Lumi foundation

        I already made a review about this foundation. If you haven't seen it yet CLICK HERE. I use this almost everyday. I love the "dewy finish" of this foundation that makes your skin glow. Light to medium coverage and it's very light weight! It feels like you're not wearing any foundation at all! 

2.) Maybeline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

        The most promising under-eye concealer from the drugstore! It doesn't cake. Does not creases. Hides my black under-eye circles perfectly! Totally love it and as you can see I am almost done with this tube and I have to replace it. Not available in the Philippine drugstores but you can check online stores for this product.

3.) L'oreal Voluminous Original Mascara
       
       I love the Voluminous full definition but this one has the same brush so it has the same result. I found out that this original version has a very "watery" consistency that it tends to transfer to your lids when you apply it. But after few minutes when it dries up it is actually good. I actually love this after months of using it. When the tube is a bit dryer it actually become better. Sometimes I let my mascara tube open for couple of minutes to let them dry up a little because I really don't like wet consistency of mascara they tend to flake up or have that spidery effect. But over all I love using this mascara makes my eyes more awake and very lengthening and voluminous.

4.) Benefit Hoola Bronzer
        
          No words needed. Kiddin! This powder bronzer is my forever favorite. I love the fact that it is matte and looks very natural on my skin. I use it for contouring my cheeks, temples, hair line, nose, and jaw line. I sometime use this as a transition color for my eyeshadow. Love love love this!

5.) EOS Lipbalm in Strawberry Sorbet

        I personally love flavored lip-balms. Aside from they smell great, they are very moisturizing to our lips. My favorite brands are Burt's Bees and Carmex. Those two has been my best buddy since high school. But when I met EOS and it booms in the market with all the rants and raves about it, I said I just had to get it. I first had the
summer fruit and I fell in-love from the smell to the packaging to how it works amazing on my lips. For now, I am really loving my EOS strawberry sorbet, smells so sweeeettttt!! I use it before applying any lipstick and before going to bed at night to hydrate my lips.

6.) Maybeline Color Sensational Lipstick in Coral Carnation

        I am so sorry for the gross picture for the Coral Carnation shade but you see it has been totally loved and abused. Lol! I keep on using this because I love how orange-y it is! I love orange-y/ coral tone lipsticks. It compliments my skin tone and really good for day light makeup.
        I am totally obsessed with Maybeline Color Sensational Lipsticks. These three colors are my faves! I actually have new one's which I will show them to you guys on my next post. I have a huge make-up haul stay tuned for that.

7.) Mac Lipstick in Shy Girl

        I love nude colors and this shade from MAC is my most favorite of all. I also love the Myth but Shy girl is more of orange-y beige tone (if that makes any sense.) Myth is more on pink tone which looks very pale while shy girl looks neutral. I use this for day light makeup or heavy/ smokey makeup. I love how it works on different
makeup because of it's versatile color that compliments either light or heavy makeup. It is in cremesheen formula  very creamy that it tends to melt down (see the photo) when it is getting hotter. (down side) But I still love it! Almost done with the tube since I got this on summer I think 3 months ago and I keep on using it.

8.) Benefit Hervana Blush

        Who doesn't love this? from the packaging - to it's smell - to it's matte finish - to it's lasting power. I love this to bits! I already made a review about this blush if you haven't read it yet then CLICK HERE.

9.) Flormar Full Coverage Concealer in 02

        I have tried tons and tons of concealers for my blemishes and acne scars. It's really hard to find a good one from the drugstore and surprisingly this baby right here works on me! For the price of 299.00php or $7 this full coverage concealer is the bomb! Not over rating it but it's just that ~ it works amazing on me. I am actually happy that I have drugstore alternative for my Mac studio finish concealer and my cinema secrets concealer. Love this concealer so much! From medium to heavy coverage - blendable - packaging looks very professional - and very affordable price! Results may still vary.

10.) Wet n' Wild Vanity Palette and Maybeline Eye studio trio cream shadow in Pedal to the Metal

        These two palettes are the most-used palette for the month of July. I love the Wet n' Wild eyeshadows. I actually got a lot of eyeshadow palette from them and I absolutely adore each of them. But my most favorite palette is the Vanity which has 6 neutral shades of browns and creams or vanilla colors. I love how pigmented the
eyeshadows and the price is way affordable compare to other brands. For the Maybeline Eye Studio Cream Shadow- these three shades I use them as an eyeshadow base for my Wet n' Wild Palette. This eyestudio cream shadows actually tends to crease for oily lids because it's not actually "thick formula" like a concealer
or like MAC PAINT POTS eyeshadow cream/base. So I use eyeshadow primer for this. Very well pigmented and I love the colors!
